Product Care Recycling announces the retirement of Patrick Chauvet, Director of Ontario Programs, effective December 31, 2023. Patrick will continue to support Product Care on a consulting basis into the new year. With Patrick’s retirement, Product Care is delighted to announce the promotion of Holly Lafontaine, an experienced professional within the organization and the industry, who will assume the role of Director of Ontario Programs effective November 20, 2023.

Patrick Chauvet, a veteran in the retail, logistics, marketing, and stewardship fields, began his career with Sears Canada, where he spent 35 years honing his leadership and operational skills in the retail sector. Following this, he spent several years at Stewardship Ontario where he learned about the recycling industry and gained regulatory expertise. His tenure at Product Care since 2015 has been marked by significant growth, with Patrick leading the Ontario team to expand from one team member and one product to 4 programs and a team of 10. Patrick’s compassionate leadership style and operational expertise have been invaluable to Product Care, and his legacy will be carried forward by the strong team he has built.

In his retirement, Patrick plans to spend quality time with his family, travel with his wife, pursue his passion for motorcycles and vintage cars, and explore new hobbies.

Holly Lafontaine, currently a key member of the Product Care team, will step into the role of Director of Ontario Programs. Holly joined Product Care in 2015 and has been instrumental in the growth and success of the Ontario programs. With degrees in environmental engineering and civil engineering, and extensive experience in product stewardship, including roles at Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority and Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association, Holly is well-equipped to lead the Ontario team to new heights.

« We extend our heartfelt thanks to Patrick for his dedicated service and leadership over the years, » said Brian Bastien, President and CEO at Product Care Recycling. « We are confident that Holly Lafontaine, with her expertise and passion for sustainable solutions, will continue to drive our Ontario Programs forward and uphold our commitment to product stewardship. »

In addition to Holly’s promotion, Product Care is also pleased to announce the well-deserved promotions of two other key team members: Robert Valentini, who will assume the role of Program Manager, and Nader Salam, who will step into the position of Operations Manager. These internal promotions are a testament to the strength of the team and the culture of growth fostered under the combined leadership of Patrick Chauvet and Holly Lafontaine over the years.

Product Care Recycling looks forward to a seamless transition and continued success in Ontario under Holly Lafontaine’s leadership and guidance.
